UK Religious Worker Visa

RELIGIOUS WORKER VISA (TEMPORARY WORK)

This visa category is designed for individuals who intend to participate in non-pastoral or order-related religious functions within the UK. To be eligible, applicants must be 18 or older, hold a certificate of sponsorship from a licensed UK sponsor, and show proof of financial stability, typically a minimum of £1,270 in savings. This visa does not apply to anyone who has been on a Religious Worker or Charity Worker visa in the previous year, except for those who spent the full year abroad. The certificate of sponsorship is a non-negotiable requirement, with the sponsoring organization being an officially recognized body in the UK. This visa category allows a stay for up to 24 months and includes certain permissions for study and secondary employment.

  • Certificate of Sponsorship: A valid certificate of sponsorship reference number from an officially recognized UK sponsor is mandatory.
  • Sufficient Funds: Proof of financial means is required, usually a minimum of £1,270 in your bank account for 28 consecutive days within a month of applying, with certain exceptions for long-term UK residents or if your sponsoring employer covers your initial costs in the UK.

  • Previous Visa Restrictions: Recent holders of a Religious Worker or Charity Worker visa are ineligible unless they have been residing outside the UK for the past year.
